About BMO Field
BMO Field is Canada's primary soccer stadium and one of the few soccer-specific venues in the entire tournament. Home to Toronto FC (MLS) and both the Canadian men's and women's national teams, it was purpose-built for the sport rather than retrofitted from American football — meaning sightlines, acoustics, and proximity to the pitch are optimized for soccer. The stadium sits on the Toronto waterfront next to Exhibition Place, overlooking Lake Ontario. The stadium is expected to have temporary expansion installed to bring capacity closer to 45,000 for World Cup matches, giving it the most intimate atmosphere of any venue in the tournament.
